SMOK FIT KIT POD REVIEW

FIRST IMPRESSION OUT OF THE BOX

DeucesJack: Yeah. We got another pod system by Smok. This is the fit kit. Very very similar to the Infinix. Just doesn’t have that raised spine in the middle there. This one is like shaped like a trapezoid. The airflow is probably just a little looser than the Infinix but it still gives you a really nice vape.

I’ve been vaping this Café Racer Salty Bastard in there. Really good Nic Salt juice. Kind of really creamy tobacco with a little bit of mint in it. And I’m normally not a mint vapor but I like that juice really really good.

We’re going to go down low on this thing. Let’s check it out. I’ll show you the pod system. Show you how this thing works and then we’ll cut back on top. We’ll vape on it a little bit, talk about it and then we’re out of here. See you down low.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX

  • 1 FIT System
  • 2 FIT Pod
  • 1 E-Liquid Injection Bottle
  • 1 MicroUSB Cable
  • Instructional Manual

Smok Fit Kit Review

Okay everyone, welcome to the down low portion of this video. This is the Smok Fit Kit pod system. It comes in a box like this. Got a nice little scratch and sniff over here. Some stuff on this side. On the back, what do we have here? We have one fit pod, Mod, we have 2 pods, one injection liquid bottle, a USB cable and a user manual.

Let’s open this thing up and let’s see what we have. Sleeve comes off likeso. Let’s see these boxes. I wish they’d put a cutout of these boxes so you can get them open a little easier. But we’ll get it. Top comes off like that.

There’s your battery. There are your two pods. One of mine is filled already because I’ve been using it. Let’s take the mod, and the pod. Put it together. There we go.

Here’s the spare pod. Let’s take the foam insert out. Let’s take the cardboard out. We have a needle nose bottle right there for refills. I like that Smok has been putting this in all of their pod systems and I really like it. I think it’s a great idea.

We have a USB charge cable. Another great idea. I like the fact that there’s no wacky type of docking station for this thing.

And there we go. There is your user manual. This thing has a power range of 10 to 16 watts, holds 2 mls of liquid and it weighs 20 grams.

FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

Let’s go over this thing. See what it looks like up close. Now, as you can see, mine’s a little rough around the edges. I have some -let’s zoom in here- I definitely have some marks on this thing. I have been using it a lot and the finish really hasn’t held up that well in my pocket. I don’t know if it can be expected to the way I carry it around because I am a pretty hard user on most of my stuff, but it really hasn’t held up that well.

Smok Fit Kit Review

But here is the actual pod. You can see, it’s kind of frosted but clear enough over here, where you can see what your juice level is doing. One thing I really like about this system is if you notice, this little tab right here and man, you really got to have some fingernails to get under there and open that. But this little tab right here, you kind of, see man, you need fingernails. This little tab right here, this is what you hold back, and you fill it right there. The reason I like that over the other pod system, is because you’ll notice, you don’t have to take it out order to fill it. I think that’s fantastic. I like that. Quick and easy way to fill it.

Smok Fit Kit Review

Because of the trapezoid shape of this thing, the pod only fits in one way. And sometimes, you got to give a little bit of a jiggle to get it in there. But once it clicks in, it clicks in there really good. And again, the finish – there’s a little bit of branding over here- the finish really hasn’t held up that great but I’ve been using this a lot, putting it in my pocket.

Smok Fit Kit Review

This one has a little bit of a looser draw than Infinix, which we’re also going to review on this channel.

There’s your USB port right there. They did a really nice job with it. they really did. I’ve been using this thing a lot. I’ve been using it with Nic Salts and I’ve definitely been enjoying it. I really have. Here’s your LED light that lights up when you puff on it. It also turns red when you are charging. Nice and slim. Very pocketable.

GENERAL THOUGHTS

Let’s cut back on top. Let’s vape on it and we’ll talk about a little bit cons, pros and we’re out of here. See you back on top.

Alright, we’re back on top with the Smok Fit Kit pod system. Man, I got to tell you, I really like this thing. I’ve been using it for about a month now. Really nice, very pocketable, shirt pocket type kind of thing. You can put it in your front jeans pocket, jacket pocket if you want to. Really nice job on this. Gives you a nice hit. I’ve been running Nic Salts in it. Been really enjoying them.

CONS

As far as the official pros and cons go, we’ll start with the cons.

Very very similar to the Infinix. Going to have similar pros and cons. The finish on it, again, I’m very very rough on my stuff, constantly putting it in and out of the bag. In and out of my pocket. It might bang against a few things. But the finish hasn’t held up that great. It’s kind of rubbed off a little bit. Especially on the corners. This one more than the Infinix. I just think they could have done a better job with it. I’ve had other pod system that I’ve treated just as badly, and the finish hasn’t rubbed off on them. So, a little disappointed in the finish.

Same con as the Infinix also with that plug system man. I mean, you need, you need like fingernails to get in there. And get that plug system open. They should have done some type of carve out around it. so, you can get under it and pull it up. But other than that, those are really minor cons. They don’t affect the vape ability of this pod system. It’s a good one.

PROS

First pro is going to be, it’s draw-activated. Go to love that. No button to press, okay? Very pocketable as I went over before. Airflow on it is a little bit loose for me. I like the one on the Infinix better but it’s good on this one too. If you like a loser mouth-to-lung draw. You’re going to like this. So, we’re going to give them an airflow pro.

It’s nice and slim. We’ll give them a pro for that. Also has LEDs, we’ll give them a pro for that, okay? Love the micro USB port. No proprietary docking station that I got to plug this thing into, in order to charge it. Big pro on that.

Smok Fit Kit Review

Got good capacity, 2ml capacity, we’ll give them a pro for that.

Again, like the Infinix, I’m going to give them a pro on the pod longevity. I’m probably on my eighth fill up on this one. And let me tell you something, this thing’s going strong. I still get nice vapor. I still get really good flavor. So, Smok is really hitting it out of the park with their pod system. They’re doing a great job. They really are. I have yet to be disappointed.

SMOK TFV12 PRINCE Review: New Mesh Coils Make BIG Difference

The SMOK TFV12 Prince is the latest (and greatest?) sub-ohm tank from SMOK’s skunkworks.

The tank features a brand new design, a new coil system, and a new drip-tip system.

Basically, it has been redesigned from the ground-up. But is it any good?

I just spent a month testing out the SMOK TFV12 Prince.

I took it everywhere with me, vaped on it all day long, got myself familiar with its coil system, and rocked it atop many a different mod in a bid to build the clearest picture possible about whether or not this tank is worth your time and money.

If you don’t know about SMOK’s line of TFV tanks, I will say this: they’re kinda like the iPhone of the sub-ohm tank space – immensely popular and used by A LOT of people.

I have something of a love/hate relationship with sub-ohm tanks, however, and SMOK’s are no exception.

Normally, if you saw me around, I’d be rocking an RDA or an RDTA.

And the reason for this is that I HATE pre-made coils (but more on that later).

After a month with the Prince, am I impressed? Is the SMOK TFV12 Prince the best sub-ohm tank you can buy right now?

Let’s get stuck into this review and find out, shall we?

SMOK TFV12 Prince Review

Design

SMOK TFV12 Prince

The SMOK TFV12 Prince feels very well put together; everything slips into place and comes apart very easily.

I do really like the new design, the new convex glass tube means it can hold more E Juice.

Plus, as a side benefit, it makes it look really unique.

The main thing about the SMOK TFV12 PRINCE, though, is the design – it looks completely different to what came before, especially the convex glass tube, showing SMOK still has plenty of ideas when it comes to upping its game.

You can, however, switch out the convex tube for a standard 5ml one if convex isn’t really your style.

The big upshot of the convex design, though, is that it will increase the juice capacity to 8ml.

You can also pick up a selection of Cobra Drip Tips for the SMOK TFV12 PRINCE.

There are six options available and they all feature a pretty nifty design.

My personal favourite is the Red option.

SMOK TFV12 Prince

SMOK has also changed the top-lock mechanism too; it’s now operated via a simple, clicky button.

This means easier access, better locking, and less mess.

SMOK says this tank WILL NOT leak. EVER.

SMOK TFV12 Prince

And like the TFV8 and TFV12 before it, the SMOK TFV12 PRINCE comes with full RBA capabilities, meaning you can build your own coils with the tank, which is great for those that like to build coils.

It also reduces the amount you’ll spend on coils as well.

SMOK TFV12 Prince

So what’s new with the SMOK TFV12 Prince?

Quite a bit as it goes, including a new design for the chassis and a new coil model called the V12 Prince-T10 Decuple Coil Head.

The SMOK TFV12 Prince is designed to take what made the SMOK TFV12 great and add in MORE – more flavour, more performance, more clouds, more power.

SMOK TFV12 Prince

The coils, as usual, are big, metallic chunks of potential.

They come in a variety of flavours, and there is also support for an RBA, though I didn’t get one with my review unit, so I cannot comment on this.

Overall, my experience with the SMOK TFV12 Prince’s coils hasn’t exactly been great.

Like 100% of pre-made sub-ohm coils in existence, performance is inconsistent at best which means you have bad ones and good ones.

Get a good one, prime it properly using this guide, and you’re looking at BIG flavour, BIG clouds, and BIG performance.

Digiflavor Drop Solo Review | Is it a Drip or a Gush?

Introduction to the Digiflavor Drop Solo

Today we will be looking at the Digiflavor Drop Solo, a single coil dripping atomiser .Digiflavor Drop Solo Review

There’s no denying the original Drop RDA made a splash when it was released last year, gathering an almost cult following amongst dual coil drippers the world over. Almost a year later and Digiflavor have set their sights on bringing the same delight to single coil squonking fans.

At first glance the Drop Solo appears to be a scaled down version of its big brother. Upon opening the box, I was almost doing an impression of a happy seal as I saw 2 different top caps and gleefully clapped.

Disclaimer: We received the Solo RDA for the purpose of this review. All opinions are based on my own experience and road-testing.

In the Box

  • Digiflavor Drop Solo stainless steel 22mm atomiser

Design and Build Quality

Size

The 22mm footprint is petite and kind of looks out of place on anything larger than a single battery mod. I had it on my trusty SX Mini G Class and it was dwarfed by the 30mm atomiser plate. With the addition of the PMMA beauty ring things began to look a little strange.Digiflavor drop solo on mod

It would have been nice to have a stainless steel ring just to keep the aesthetics consistent. However, the chance to break out my Pulse BF Box is never wasted and the Drop Solo looked like it was made for the single battery squonker.Drop solo BF RDA

The stainless steel barrel is well proportioned whilst the PMMA barrel gives a more rugged appearance with its squat profile. I quickly found myself swapping the long drip tip on the PMMA cap with the shorter one from the metal cap and that became my default setup.

Juice Well Depth

This natty little atty boasts a 5mm juice well, which sounds more than ample for a modern dripper. However, I found the Drop Solo to be very, very thirsty in standard dripper configuration. This makes me further believe that the Drop Solo was always intended to be used with a squonker.Digiflavor drop solo deck

Post Type

Digiflavor appear to have simply removed a set of posts from the Drop Solo’s big brother and that’s not a bad thing. The width between the posts and the empty second half of the deck make it possible to place some rather large, complex coils with ease.digiflavor drop solo coil placement

The grub screws are easy to access and hold the coils securely in place. The raised posts boast the facility to trim your coils once they are in place. Sadly, I found that this wasn’t possible when I had a coil with anything more than a single core, as I just couldn’t get purchase on the coil legs with my snips.

Air flow

Looking at the metal barrel first we can see the design lifted straight from the original Drop RDA and why not, after all this is one of the reasons for its success in the first place. I don’t know what else to say other than Digiflavor got it right again. Fully open the draw is not too airy and closed off to a single hole the restriction is just right. The only problem I have and it’s quite a biggy is the sheer tightness of the air flow control.

Even after running some juice around the top O rings I had 2 options: grab a spanner or pop the top cap, reposition the AFC and pop the top cap back in place.

With the PMMA barrel being shorter by 1.5mm, Digiflavor have done away with the top row of airflow but have kept the performance in every respect. The turn on the AFC is smooth and precise, further endeering this top cap and barrel to me.

Whether you opt for the metal barrel or the PMMA barrel I feel that the air flow on the Digiflavor Drop Solo sits right in the Goldilocks Zone!

In a good way I was quite shocked with how thick the metal barrel was and this happy shock extended to every other aspect of this perfectly formed little squonk dripper.

Absolutely nothing about it appears to have been manufactured to a price point. The main thing I’d pick out is the absence of a metal beauty ring seems a little stingy. A gripe I had with the choice of material/colour of the PMMA barrel is that you could see the build-up of moisture on the inside, which was a little off putting to look at.drop solo pmma

I wonder if a solid colour would have been better than the frosted look.

One thing to be careful of is over squonking/dripping. As the air flow holes run pretty much to the top of the juice well I found that holding my mod at an angle regularly led to leaking.

A big plus for me in the design of this dripper is the inclusion of the notches with lock the barrel in place with the base. This allows for confidence that no matter how much you alter your air flow you are never going to alter the alignment of the air flow from the coil. This provides a perfectly fed draw each time.

How Does The Digiflavor Drop Solo RDA Perform?

Dripper Mode

I started using the Drop Solo RDA with the metal top cap and had it in dripper mode. After dropping in one of the included coils I was in performance review mode. I quickly mounted it on my G Class and took a draw, pulled a disgusted face and looked at my mod’s screen. I’d left the mod set at 76w.drop solo wicked

After having a nice long drink I dropped the wattage to 40w…nice. Then 50w…better. 55w, 60w and back down to 55w.

For me this is where my sweet spot was. Obviously, this was down to the coil I was using but as these were the ones that were sent through I thought it important to include this in the review.

Two days vaping in this way did not get tiresome. I tried bakery, fruity and citrus flavoured e-liquids and found the flavour to be rounded and very enjoyable. My only gripe was that I felt like I was dripping far too regularly but seeing as this is a 22mm deck it shouldn’t be too surprising that the cotton needs feeing more often than a 24mm deck.

Squonk Mode

On day three I switched to squonk mode. This is what the Digiflavor Drop Solo was designed for, of that I have no doubts. My Pulse BF has a Samsung 25r 18650 battery and after consulting ohms law I knew the 0.34ohm coil was safe to use. From then on this is where the drop stayed. I played around with airflow on both top caps and even switched out the drip tips to see if it made a difference.Digiflavor drop solo firing

Finally, I had the perfect configuration for me: the PMMA cap with the shorter drip tip and air flow with 4 holes open. The clouds were good, I was using a 70/30 juice but the flavour was where the Drop Solo was really winning. The flavour was consistent draw after draw.

This little dripper sits proudly on my bedside table for daily use and is going nowhere soon!

Pros

  • Build quality
  • Choice of top caps
  • Squonk mode is a winner
  • Flavour

Cons

  • Tight airflow control on the metal barrel and top cap
  • Can see condensation on PMMA barrel
  • Frequent dripping
  • Leaks if over dripped/squonked

Final verdict

There is no real reason for not adding this little beauty to your collection. The flavour from the included coils was very good and with something more complex installed in the deck who knows what we’ll be greeted with. Just be careful not to be too heavy handed with the liquid, unless you want a juicy mod.

I’d definitely buy the Digiflavor Drop Solo again if I managed to lose it.
